My six crowns are Violet, Mia, Noelle, Charlie, Henry, and George.
I have six crowns, well eight if you count our son and our daughter. Therefore, I have eight crowns. Each of them is a marvelous gift from a loving God.

Memories are Many
Many do not have the joy of living close to their grandchildren. Cindie and I have enjoyed that blessing and, even if some grandchildren are not living in the same state, we have many wonderful memories about each of them. Each is a unique jeweled crown. Each of the grandchildren is a dazzling example of God’s creative genius. So, while each of them is special and loved by us, today I celebrate the birthday of the very first of our grandchildren crowns in pictures. I will put a brief comment on each one. Happy birthday Violet! I love you. Papa
Violet and me on her birthday day. The Monster at the End of This Book!
When you are little you can sit a a basket and read. Violet is still a reader.
Violet and Grandma Cindie at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison WI. Lots of zoo trips in three states! Wisconsin, St. Louis and Texas!
So many different things to see and learn! Is that Hippo?
Violet and Hippo at a tea party. Elegant and always a princess.
Violet and the long-suffering Honus. Makes me smile every time.
See what I mean? Violet is our princess (and one of my crowns!)
The Three Little Kittens often lost their mittens. However, it was fun to play with this gift from my mom.
I never lost my marbles. However, we often played with them when Violet was little. They are like jewels too!
Violet is the “balance” girl. This railing no longer is part of our home. Often I think of this balancing act she performed when she was little.
Violet was following the example of Mia and Noelle, who were also in the boat on this fishing trip. That is why her tongue is sticking out at me.
Two lovely ladies with Violet wearing Cindie’s creation.
2021 Violet, Cindie and me in Hawaii. Wonderful memories.
End Word to My Grandchildren
My prayer for you is that you will allow Jesus to be your advocate in the courtroom of heaven. As the Apostle John wrote, “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1
I love the way you engage with your family Wayne. I too have realized those kinds of dividends that may keep going forever
