You may be fast, but you cannot outrun truth. You cannot hide. You may think you have or that you can, but you would be wrong. “He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly.” Psalm 147:15
When we realize this truth, we have only one way to run that makes any sense. And the surprising reality, is that if we come to our senses, the Father runs to meet us. Luke 15:20-21 says this about the son who had despised his father: “And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’” Coming in repentance is wise. The alternative is noted in the last book of the Old Testament.
“Then I will draw near to you for judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hired worker in his wages, the widow and the fatherless, against those who thrust aside the sojourner, and do not fear me, says the Lord of hosts.” Malachi 3:5
