“A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech, winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger, with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord; therefore, calamity will come upon him suddenly; in a moment he will be broken beyond healing.” Proverbs 6:12-15 ESV

It is a sad thing to hear many of our leaders, elected officials and those seeking to be elected to a new position speaking ill of each other. This results in a lack of unity, an unwillingness to listen to another voice and continual suspicion of the other person’s heart motives. But let’s be real about this. We all have a part of us that thinks the best way to win an argument is to tear the other person down rather than examine our own selfish hearts.

Take note of what God says happens to a worthless person who continually sows discord. The calamity will be great and there will be a brokenness that is beyond healing. We should examine our own heart motives very carefully.
