Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge or DuckDuckGo?

There are choices when it comes to browsers. I generally dislike Microsoft Edge and rarely use it. At one time I was a fan of Mozilla Firefox, but I don’t remember why I stopped using it. For the last several years (too many to count or remember) I have been using Google Chrome.

Recently I started noticing that Chrome was consuming a ton of resources on my laptop. In addition, it seemed like Chrome took far too long to load my pages or even to delete an email message. I have been using the DuckDuckGo search engine on my iPhone and on my laptop, so I thought it might be time to try the DuckDuckGo browser as a replacement for Chrome.
I don’t know about you, but I value security and privacy. I think DuckDuckGo is a better choice not just for speed, but for privacy as well.
Results?
After just one hour I am very pleased with how DuckDuckGo performs. I have used it with GMAIL, Fidelity Investments, Facebook, Seeking Alpha, Amazon.com, and my own blog website. It is performing far better than Chrome. If you are interested in learning more about DuckDuckGo, then here are some links.

thanks Wayne, I always value your insights.
Would be interested in your thoughts on Authentication apps vs passkeys. Passkeys are gaining in popularity and you can now request this from Fidelity. Currently I’m using microsofts app for Fidelity, and somewhat disappointed that Schwab only supports Symantic VIP.
In addition, since we are on security, I am using Nordlocker, do you use a similar product or have recommendations?

You are asking some good questions. I’m probably not the best person to give recommendations regarding authentication apps and passkeys or other products. However, I will give this some thought. Perhaps I should at least do a post about security/privacy best practices. The first thing most people need to do is change the way they create and store their passwords. I also use NordVPN at home and when traveling to keep my web traffic as secure as is reasonably possible.
