Newlywed Indiana and Canadian Adventure

I am gradually working through scanning pictures from our first week of travels as a married couple. This collection starts with a log of our travels. If you know me, you know I like to keep a log of mileage and maintenance in each of our vehicles. I learned that discipline from my dad, and that has proven helpful more than once. It is also fun to review the history of the same type of log from our honeymoon.

Indiana Dunes State Park
One of our first stops as we headed toward Toronto was Indiana Dunes State Park. As you can see, I was being goofy, and Cindie captured the silly antics. The writing in the sand by my feet says, “R.I.P. Just Married 7/5/76.”

Silver Sands Postcard
This was one of the places we stayed with the Ford Coachman camper truck.

Algonquin Provincial Park
Let’s just say Cindie and I really REMEMBER this park. We were eaten alive by mosquitos and needed calamine lotion to help solve the itching. I think we each lost a pint of blood on the trail.

I’m not sure I would have written that last note if I had known it would end up on something called “social media” 48 years later. Ha!
