The Perfect Pattern
Those who make things want to have a starting point. That starting point is often a pattern. It might be a blueprint diagram of a building, a recipe for a cake, or some paper that helps you cut fabric to the right size for a quilt or a shirt. The results will often depend on the quality of the pattern.

When it comes to living life well, the pattern, or example we follow, makes all the difference in the world. Jesus set an excellent pattern for us, and he showed us not only what it was, but he lived it.
This is what he said to his disciples: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
The Apostle John repeated this frequently. In 1 John 4:10-11 he told the church, “In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
Love Applied
This love looks like amazing love. It will have a dramatic impact on your family, your spouse, your children, your grandchildren, your neighbors, your nation, and your world. Follow the best pattern for the best results.

There is much wisdom in these words – “The results will often depend on the quality of the pattern.” May we read and live by the pattern He has set out for us in His Word.

I started it from nowhere
and had the best intent,
wandered off without a care,
and then found that I’d went
off the rails a good ways back,
from loco to caboose.
Everything was off the track,
and I had no excuse
‘cept my wanting to be free,
which is all fine and good,
but the only liberty
is doing what you should,
for freedom from wrack and sin
is only born of discipline.
