An Index For New Readers
I had a unique opportunity to be interviewed by a journalist of the Wall Street Journal in November 2022. As the result of the article’s publication (America’s Retirees Are Investing More Like 30-Year-Olds) on July 4, 2023, the number of readers of the Proverbs27Flocks blog has grown dramatically. I realize new readers may find weeding through 980 posts very daunting if you are new to my blog or even if you are a long-time follower. One of the series that might be of interest to new readers is a series of “Easy Income Strategy” (EIS) posts that began on March 4, 2023.
The first post was titled “The Easy Income Strategy – What is Easy Income?” I started that post this way: “We need to define ‘easy.’ When I say easy, I don’t mean there is no work involved. Rather, the term is meant to convey simplified, unhurried, user-friendly, and uncomplicated. Therefore, it isn’t about trying to sell something, and it certainly isn’t about trading options. It also isn’t about trying to time the market with a buy low and sell high strategy. It is about a process that results in income, and the primary goal is to minimize the time spent while maximizing income that grows over time.”
My wife suggested that I provide a way for my new WSJ readers to get links to the 27 posts. Therefore, I put an Excel spreadsheet in a shared public Dropbox folder. This spreadsheet looks like this illustration.
I flagged four articles that might help you get a good idea of the strategy, EIS Scores, criteria, my top ten positions and the results of the strategy for the first quarter of 2023. In the spreadsheet you can click on links in Column D to go directly to the article. If for some reason you cannot get to the link or don’t like Excel, reach out to me and I will email you a PDF version of the spreadsheet.
Does the EIS Strategy Work?
Don’t just take advice without asking for some evidence that the advice can work. For that reason, I provided a first quarter 2023 results post on April 8, 2023. You may want to read that one too.
