Looking for a Good Job
When I looked for a new position, whether it was at Nordberg Manufacturing, Universal Foods, Conney Safety Products or Parts Now, I was interested in knowing the hourly rate or salary associated with the position. When I started at Nordberg, I made $300 per month. When I started at Universal Foods, I made $600 per month. Each company also had a benefit package, and those benefits made a huge difference. I included them in my evaluation before accepting an offer of employment. One thing I never considered: “What don’t I get?” I wanted to know what I was going to receive.
Psalm 103 Bless the Lord

When I read a passage of scripture every morning, I like to copy it into Microsoft Word and then use a highlighter, shading, different fonts, and other text boxes to get me to think carefully about a passage. As I was reading Psalm 103, I was reminded of the Father’s character, his promises, my situation, his provision, and all of his benefits. I was also reminded of what I don’t get. In other words, one of the benefits is something I don’t get. The image attached to this post is the way I read and thought about who God is and what he has done. It is simply amazing.
I don’t get what I deserve because of his mercy, compassion and the gift of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. I do get what I don’t deserve. The benefit list is simply amazing.
