Pandemics in History
I saw this flu pandemic graph and found it most interesting. With all of the bad news from the New York portion of the current Covid-19 pandemic, a comparison from history shows what others have faced. In reality, even the 1918-1919 pandemic death rate was small compared with what others have faced in previous centuries.
When You Need a Physician
“And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.’” Mark 2:17 I am thankful that he came to give his life as a gift. It was a tangible sacrifice willingly given to rescue me from everlasting death.
I’m also thankful for God’s care for us during this pandemic. In saying that I don’t mean that I understand how He is working or why he does what He does. But I do know that He provides caregivers to give care. He gives scientists insights and allows them to make important discoveries. I do appreciate the good medical care I have received, especially as I have grown older and more in need of medical care.
Thanksgiving for Care
The good news is that my skin general health has improved dramatically during this time of isolation. Therefore, I thank God for the improvement, but I also appreciate my dermatologist, my primary care physician, the dental surgeon, my dentist, the dental clinic receptionist, the dental hygienist and the many people who are caring for Cindie’s mom. Don’t take the people who provide care for granted. They are a part of God’s answers to prayers. Therefore, to all caregivers, a big thank you for your care for others. And thanks to God for being the ultimate physician.
