No matter how Proverbs 17:10 is translated, the results are the same. If you are a person of understanding you see value in a rebuke. If only I had understood the gift of a rebuke sooner, I would have avoided many repeated wrong choices, poor attitudes and just plain silly priorities and goals. There is a wonderful place to get rebukes for every part of life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 makes it clear that every part of the Bible is full of good reproofs and correction if we will read every page carefully. It says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
