When someone interviews for a new job, most of the time they want to know what the pay is, but they also want to know the benefits.  In the world of investing there is an unknown about the long-term gain you might realize from any investment. But there is a benefit you receive from investing in dividend-paying stocks, especially those that have a history of increasing their dividend. That is why I invest in many different companies, including IBM, Marathon Petroleum, Sonoco Products Company, Target Corporation and Exxon Mobil Corporation.

One of the reasons I like the iPhone Dividend Tracker app is that I can quickly see which stocks and other investments will be paying a dividend on any given day. The calendar feature of Dividend Tracker does have other views, but this is the one I usually want to see.
