Proverbs 19:27 (ESV) “Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.” Knowledge gained from instruction is compass, a shield and a foundation. You can go the right direction, be protected from foolish mistakes and live a life built on something that has been proven.

William Penn knew how to cut to the chase when using words to convey truth.  He said, for example, “Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.” He also said “Knowledge is the treasure of a wise man.”

William Penn was a wise man.

The primary source for fundamental knowledge and wisdom is the one who is Creator. That shouldn’t surprise us. If we have a question about a painting, we should ask the artist. If we have a question about a sports car, we should ask the design engineer. If we want to know how to make wonderful cheese cake, we would do well to ask someone who specializes in making cheese cake.

So, if you want to know how to live life, don’t stop listening to the Creator. Why? “For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.  He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.” – Proverbs 2:6-7 (ESV)
