There is a Tool For That

While I know some people don’t like to connect their investment account information to other websites, I think the risk is minimal. For that reason I do have our Fidelity Investment’s accounts connected to Seeking Alpha and StockRover.

Five Health Checkups on Seeking Alpha

The following image shows the “health” report for my ROTH IRA. I can do the same for any of our accounts. However, they will be similar, as the investments I tend to buy and hold will be similar in each account.

Number 1: Strong Buy or Buy

I tend to prefer to buy investments that are in the “BUY” range. I like to be in the green, but holding investments that are yellow is not a bad thing. Many of them were green when I bought them.

Number 2: How Do I Compare?

Comparisons can be misleading. However, it isn’t a bad thing to have an investment mix that includes me in the top 30% of all Seeking Alpha portfolios. I’m not trying to be like everyone else in every regard.

Number 3: What Do the Analysts Think?

Many of the analysts on Seeking Alpha have opinions worthy of consideration. Therefore, it appears that I agree with the SA analysts more often than not.

Number 4: Your Dividend Safety Score

This is fairly important. If I want to have continuing and increasing dividends I don’t want to buy investments where the dividend is at risk.

Number 5: What Are the Strengths and Weaknesses of Your Portfolio?

I’m not surprised by the profitability score. The reality is that I want to buy profitable stocks and ETFs. To do otherwise seems really strange to me.
