I Remember My Days Leading Technology Teams

Most of my career was at a company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I held various roles, and when I left the company I was the Director of Information Technology Operations. During the entire time I worked at Universal Foods, our main computers were from IBM. This included mainframe computers, the AS/400 midrange platform, and even IBM laptops and desktop computers. We would sometimes refer to IBM as “Big Blue.”
“International Business Machines Corporation (using the trademark IBM), nicknamed Big Blue, is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York and present in over 175 countries. It is a publicly traded company and one of the 30 companies in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. IBM is the largest industrial research organization in the world, with 19 research facilities across a dozen countries, having held the record for most annual U.S. patents generated by a business for 29 consecutive years from 1993 to 2021.” Wikipedia
Although I don’t have any IBM technology in our home, I still like the fact that IBM pays me a dividend as a part owner with 600 shares of IBM stock.
