Conagra Brands equals Easy Income

I purchased another 200 shares of CAG. This is a value investment, not a growth investment. However, with the new shares included, our total estimated annual income from our CAG shares is now $3,360. That will buy a lot of groceries.

Dividend Growth Graph

The StockRover graph helps illustrate the ups and downs of the CAG dividend since 2007. For 2014-2016 the dividend was stagnant. Then, in 2017 the dividend dropped but then started to slowly recover until 2021.

Options Trading Opportunities

In addition to dividends, I am also able to trade options on our shares. Most of my options trading is done in my traditional IRA account. I use Active Trader Pro to monitor the expiring dividends. On Friday, unless something drastic happens, there will be ten options that will expire. That might make Monday more interesting, as I can explore entering new covered call options trades on not only CAG, but also ABR, ADC, BMY, F, HRZN, IMMP, MPW, O, QRVO, and SWKS.

This is almost like renting out my shares “with the option to buy.” Of course, they can only buy my shares if they rise to or above the contract price.

This has been a good week for options trades. On Monday and Tuesday I made a total of $2,457.96 in additional income. That beat the previous week’s $2,407.70.

To put this in perspective, the total options income for 2025 YTD has exceeded the dividends I will receive from CAG for the entire year.
